Royal Opera House, Stanton Williams, London
The main female toilets for the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden London. Situated in the brick vaulted lower basement level, this high specification fit out takes a page out of the classic 1920 drama of going to the opera in Covent Garden and gives it a modern streamlined feeling. Great care and attention has been paid to the detailed joints, material choices and fittings. Walnut paneling and doors are used through out with brass touch and kick plates. The language of the dark flooring tiles is continued up the walls and to the hand basins construction giving a unified appearance. Large mirrors with theatrical lighting adds to the feeling of drama when using the space.
