Spaceport America New Mexico, USA, 2006-2011 The New Mexico Spaceport Authority Building. Headquarters for the Virgin space flights. “The sinuous shape of the building in the landscape and its interior spaces seek to capture the drama and mystery of space flight itself, articulating the thrill of space travel for the first space tourists.” A privilege to have worked on this project at Foster + Partners. As well as designing and curating the competition presentation I worked to created the paint finish for the roof, a rusted metal look that blended in with the desert sands and gave the building a gritty futuristic look.
