Citic Bank Head Quarters in Hangzhou, China was a competition project at Foster+Partners in 2010. Designed to look like a golden matrix overlaying smoked glass, the building had geometry that told more than one story. From the front the massing is an imposing square form that gives way to an elegantly tapered wast when view from the side. A gigantic atrium spanned the whole height of the building presenting anyone who entered the lobby on the ground floor with a view up the entire height of the building.
